Each fall more than 35,000 spectators converge on Moorland Farm in Far Hills, New Jersey to attend the area’s biggest social event of the fall season, Far Hills Races aka "the Hunt".
October 18, 2014 will mark the 94th running of this timeless tradition, featuring the finest steeplechase thoroughbreds in the world running against a backdrop of autumn splendor. First post time is 1:00 pm.
The beneficiary of this event is Somerset Health Care Foundation, a non-profit organization that solicits and administers funds on behalf of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. Since the mid-1950’s, over $18 million has been invested in this vital community resource through the Far Hills Races.
On October 17th, the Friday evening before the races. Gladstone Tavern will offer Live Music featuring one of the area's most popular bands Hoi Polloi, also known as the "Pajama" band - because of their penchant for playing their fun brand of Rock 'n' Roll in their PJs! Their set is from 9 pm until Midnight. There is never a cover charge but Dinner reservations are recommended.
On Saturday October 18th immediately following the races the Zydeco Band "Hot Take-Out" will be playing on the Tavern's Terrace bar from 7-10 pm. You will not want to miss this fun whether you go to the races or not!
